Team Description

The Technology Resiliency Management team is responsible for ensuring that JPMorgan's Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) Technology demonstrates and improves the resiliency of its applications. Our team interacts with our partners in Application Development, Corporate and Global Infrastructure teams. The CIB business relies heavily on having stable and resilient applications to be able to provide clients and governments with a first-class service, all the time. Our team understands regulatory requirements, drives company policy, and engages with support teams to ensure that the 1000+ applications design, build, test and, in an incident, execute recovery plans efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be focused on helping drive the Technology Resiliency agenda across the Investment Bank organization. Specifically, responsible for the governance of resiliency testing and technology recovery plans for applications running on cloud platforms in compliance with established firmwide control procedures and policies. You will work with application development teams to identify gaps or risks to enhance resilient design within cloud technologies.

You will help drive the Technology Resiliency agenda across CIB through:

  • Assess applications and technology platforms to identify risks that can disrupt and impact the business
  • Liaise with Application Development teams, SREs and Technology partners to ensure they understand Resiliency requirements and applications are built and designed in a resilient pattern in cloud technologies
  • Monitor application compliance to resiliency testing requirements and resiliency parameters defined by Technology and the Business
  • Assess resiliency testing evidence and compliance with Recovery Time Objective
  • Provide Executive level reporting and commentary to support Key Risk Indicators (KRI) and Audit requests

Required Skills

The purpose of the Application Resiliency Program is to ensure that legacy as well as emerging technology platforms have well defined resiliency controls, to ensure that CIB organization understands these controls and complies with them. Key work streams in the program are related to cloud resiliency, Kubernetes, robotics, and end to end automation through Automation as a Service (AaaS).

  • College degree in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in IT, Disaster Recovery, IT Risk Management
  • Technical knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, and management of different data sources to produce executive level reporting, metrics, and commentary
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with different stakeholders, from technical savvy individuals, to Senior Management
  • Experience in overseeing technology risk and controls and providing support to audit and regulatory activities would be highly advantageous
  • Python knowledge would be highly advantageous
